Took off for the car wash to remove mud from the fun on the weekend. We got about 1/4 mile down main street when it died. The material I made the packing for the fuel selector valve apparently wasn't compatible with gasoline. It had swelled a little and the brass selector had chewed off chunks as it rotated when I had moved it. Took it apart in about 2 minutes and walked back to the house for another one. Put it back together in another 2 minutes and drove to the car wash. Glad I hadn't put all the screws back in the side cover! Stopped at the NAPA store in Lancaster to get some different material to try for the packing. Also ordered 2 NAPA oil filters for the engine flush, then change to Amsoil. The fellow at the counter informed me that NAPA filters are made by WIX when I asked for Wix.
