| Drove the Mog around a little to warm it up. Went around the block to Kilkenny
Building Center on Middle Street in Lancaster to try
to match the paint on the Mog. Looks like they might be close, we'll see. Returned home and converted the transmission
and engine to Amsoil lubricants. Also converted the passenger
side front hub to Amsoil Gear Lube. Decided not to do the rest
until we drive some more to warm it up more as the petroleum stuff ran out rather slowly. Besides, it was getting
late and we wanted to have some fun! Learned something... Use a 5 gallon pail or other open container to drain the engine oil into. The Mog drain plug is larger than the drain hole in the middle of the large drain pan with internal reservoir we had. Therefore the engine oil drains far faster than the pan can handle it! Finished making an adapter for the air fitting on the Mog so we can use our air tools. Scroll down below to see a few pictures of it. Made a high tech catch funnel for the gear lube from the hubs from an old windshield washer bottle. Used the air powered grease gun to shoot some Heavy Duty Amsoil Grease into some of the fittings. Works great with the air fitting adapter on the Mog. Took off for a test drive on a back road in Vermont. The transmission shifts noticably easier with the Amsoil in it. The engine was still warm, we couldn't tell much difference in it yet. Seems to go better up hills, who knows which of the oils is helping the most there, probably both. |

On the left the picture really doesn't show it, but the oil disaster is happening.
