| First I would like to thank our members and the NEMAC members that attended the trail cleanup day in Washington,
NH. Fortunately for us we didn't have to do any cleanup, just ride. NEMAC Members were Chris Elliot, also a NEWJO
member and the major transportation for the trail ride. He brought a MOG that was unstoppable, and at one point
had five passengers. Tom Meinsche drove from New York and was a passenger. Tom stayed over both nights. John Daskin
and his son Arthur drove up from Rhode Island and stayed over both nights, John drove his Toyota landcruiser during
the trail ride. Saturday, Chris Elliot showed up with a Mog in tow, From Rhode Island. A fellow from Conn. that Chris is trying to sell a Mog also showed up. Chuck Wooton and his friend Mike rode in the 3B from VT. For the trail ride, Adam Goodwin and wife Kelly rode with Jason Odess and Fiancee Lisa in Jason's stock YJ. Jason had no problem on the trail with a full load. Ed Sanders showed up with a Mog radio box truck just as we were leaving for the trail. We almost missed him, but were glad he made it. Tracie and I rode as passengers, as did my dog Flamer. The trails weren't too bad, maybe rated for the most part as a 3, the last trail of the day was the best, where we had probably three football fields of mud to drive through. All made it, some faster then others. John found a sink hole and had to back up, but didn't get stuck. We drove through some pretty good sippy holes, climbed over a few rocks, and had a pretty good time. A feast for a king was cooked after, Thanks Tom. Larry Richard from Warner made it over for a little socializing. For the most part I would say we all had a good time. I scheduled two more trail days in August hope more can attend, what a blast. While up there I got permission to do some wheeling on another gentleman's property of about sixty acres, which has been logged off in the past. So that is 120 acres with in 4 miles of each other we have the permission to ride and make trails. |
Mark May is hosting Drop an engine day on the 21st of MAY. This will also be the location for the Spring Quarterly meeting. Mark will forward more information. The Following weekend I will be going to John Carroll's in Canada, and the poll says that Adam Charnok and Adam Goodwin will also attend. Any others? June, I think is when The Goodwin brothers are planning to host a meeting, might be July though. Any volunteers to host Sept-DEC. Calendars are being worked on but I need input from the members. Melody gray is the only one that said she was working on getting pictures to me. I also need people to commit to hosting a month next year. The feedback on the by-laws has been slim, but all positive. NEWJO LOGO contest! The winner will receive a free calendar. So mail me your designs. Enough rambling for now! Don't forget to tell all your friends about NEWJO, and tell NEWJO what you are doing with your friends. Happy jeeping now.
